Cambridge International Education (CIE)
CIE is a Cambridge University initiative providing international qualifications for school education across 10,000+ Cambridge schools in 160 countries. The curriculum is designed to develop knowledge, understanding and skills for independent thinking, judgment and decision-making. MIS has been following the Cambridge Curriculum for almost four decades.
IGCSE Curriculum Structure (Grades 9 & 10)
The IGCSE provides a broad study programme categorised into five subject groups:
- Group I — Languages
- Group II — Humanities and Social Sciences
- Group III — Sciences
- Group IV — Mathematics
- Group V — Creative and Professional
Subject Selection Requirements
- Total Subjects: 7 — students opt for seven subjects in total.
- Selection Rule — two different languages from Group I, and at least one subject from Groups II, III, IV and V. The seventh can be from any group.
- ICE Certificate — completing this combination qualifies students for the International Certificate of Education group award.
The school requires a minimum of 5 students to offer a specific subject, and discourages changing subjects during the 2-year programme.
